Do you know Carla Gugino? She played a dancer with a gun (and practically nothing else more [left]) in Sin City. She's also the researcher fascinated with the historical Native American girl Sacagawea in Night at the Museum. It's amazing to see her portraying a variety of characters and all of them are believable in more ways than one. What's even more amazing is that she acts and looks differently for each one, and this says a lot about how good she is as an actress.
In Watchmen the movie, Carla Gugino plays Silk (Sally Jupiter) Spectre, an unlikely superhero who in the 1940s with a getup to match. Gugino says her character in Watchmen is a cross between Betty Page and Alberto Vargas. The Betty Page part is obvious, but Alberto Vargas?
The Watchmen characters get to be seen in classic 1940s getups. Compared to their more contemporary wear, these costumes are more appealing in a retro kind of way - with the use of shorts, fishnet stockings, poodle hair, and pastel colors. Yep, straight from a good old cereal box.
Carla Gugino undergoes a transformation in Watchmen - from a 25-year-old heroine to a grandmother in the 1980s. Let's keep her at 25 shall we? Buy this classic pinup action figure of her Silk Spectre character together with her co-heroes now!
