4 Days to Oscar - What's in a clip?

Screw Clooney and Giamatti!

Best Actor -

Philip Seymour Hoffman - While they'll probably go to one with one of the scenes where he's talking to Perry, my fave Hoffman-as-Capote scene is when he's at the party and asks the waiter (or whoever it was) "are you my daddy? Daddy?" It's not a serious scene, but I enjoyed it.

Terrence Howard - His monologue with Nola at the beginning.

Heath Ledger - "Why don't you leave me alone? Because of you I'm nothing, I'm nowhere..." or talking to Alma Jr at the end: "He loves you?"

Joaquin Phoenix - When he rips up the bathroom or when he sings when he's completely smashed and almost passes out on stage.

David Strathairn - "Why don't you just fire me?"

Best Actress:

Judi Dench - The speech in front of the theatre at the end when she brings up her son.

Felicity Huffman - talking to the therapist at the beginning, though they'll probably go with her snot crying about the surgery.

Keira Knightley - When she's looking at the statues in Darcy's mansion or when she tells off Mr. Darcy at the first dance.

Charlize Theron - When she flips out in the parking lot after Bobby Sharp's wife accuses her of sleeping with him

Reese Witherspoon - When she throws beer bottles at the band for screwing off: "You don't walk no line." Or singing Wildwood Flower. Or when she talks to crowd in her first scene about Johnny being a strapping man. She's so consistently good in all her scenes no wonder she is winning.

Best Supporting Actress -

Amy Adams - "You were not." Crying in the hospitol is baity, but it's not really the scene her character should be defined by.

Catherine Keener - the scene where she hits on Steve Carrell at the electronic store. Oh wait. Ok. The scene where she does nothing, but does it in a subtle way. Oh wait...

Frances McDormand - "If you help me, I'll cry."

Rachel Weisz - Her first scene during Fiennes' lecture where she gets all political on Ralph's ass.

Michelle Williams - You know they're gonna go with "you didn't go up there to fish" but I prefer the scene where she talks to Ennis about no more lonesome ranches. Then he fucks her in the ass.

Best Supporting Actor -

Matt Dillon - talking to Shanequa Johnson about his father.

Jake Gyllenhaal - "The truth is I miss you so much I can hardly stand it." or "All we got left is Brokeback Mountain."

William Hurt - "How do you fuck that up?"

And what would you choose?
