Mariah Carey – Working on Christmas Album

Mariah Carey is planning to release a new Christmas album. According to reports, she is currently shooting the cover of this album with world renowned fashion photographer David LaChapelle. It’s not the first time they’ve worked together, in 1999 LaChapelle shot Mariah’s cover album of “Rainbow” and directed her video of “Loverboy”.

In a recent interview with LaChapelle in the U.K.'s The Times, the photographer explained that the Christmas album will feature a graffiti skyline backdrop replete with fake snow, a "hideous" silver tree and wooden reindeer. "Mariah wanted real ones," LaChapelle said. "Flown from Nebraska. Can you imagine, real reindeer?"

Mariah Carey has been seen working with Jermaine Dupri in the studio, after cancelling her “Angel’s Advocate Remix” album.

Mariah Carey is back in the studios working on some new music with Jermaine Dupri and Brian Michael Cox. A video of them working on the new album has just popped up on the net. The audio only starts working after 3 minutes or so. This is actually the first day they started working together, and therefore there isn’t a specific sound yet for the new album. Apparently, it’s the first time that they do a behinds the scenes footage for a new Mariah Carey project. Mariah emphasizes that this video is for the fans, it isn’t sponsored, and it’s not about the money. Jermaine Dupri has been behind some of Mariah Carey’s best music ‘Always Be My Baby’ to ‘We Belong Together’ and ‘Get Your Number’.

Mariah Carey – Angels Advocate Cancelled

Mariah Carey’s “Angels Advocate” album has officially been cancelled, it was supposed to be released on March 30th however it’s now officially shelved. Recently, she also had low ticket sales during her Angels Advocate tour. Mariah just isn’t giving her fans what they want recently, she really should take the time to produce music to the level she reached in the 90s.

Well don’t feel so bad for Mariah, Patti LaBelle has her back:

On the March 19th episode of Bravo's Watch What Happens: Live with host Andy Cohen, Soul great Patti LaBelle talked about the other ladies of music in a game called "Diva Word Association." In discussing Mariah, she revealed that Mariah will be writing some songs on her new album, which is coming out before December 2010.

Andy: "Mariah Carey."
Patti: "She's my goddaughter. And nobody can make that... well, before she died, Minnie Riperton, and she's another underrated person, Minnie Riperton. But Mariah Carey is a songbird.
Andy: "And a great songwriter, right?"
Patti: "Awesome. She's gonna write some things for my new project."

Mariah Carey’s Madison Square Garden Performance!

 
Mariah Carey welcomed the New Year by performing in front of a packed audience of screaming fans at Madison Square Garden in New York! She came on stage in a red sleigh singing her hit single “All I Want For Christmas Is You (remix)”.

Later on, her husband Nick Cannon joined her for her first kiss of the new year as she finished singing “Auld Lang Syne”.

Mariah will start her tour “Angels Advocate” tomorrow at Atlantic City.

Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon appeared on The TODAY Show to promote the release of her new album "Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel". Mimi belted out a string of singles, including “Obsessed,” “Make It Happen,” and her rendition of Foreigner’s 1984 ballad “I Want To Know What Love Is.”

Mariah Carey's "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" will be released as a double-disc set.

The first CD lines up seventeen songs, including a prologue titled "Betcha Gon' Know", a prelude called "Angel" and an interlude entitled "Languishing". The second disc features four radio mixes and edits of single "Obsessed" as well as music video for the song's official remix which features Gucci Mane and video for the track's original version.

"Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" will be released in U.S. on September 29.

"Obsessed" is Mariah Carey's first single from her upcoming album "Memoirs of an Angel", due to be released on August 25th. Here are Mariah's thoughts on her new song: "This is one of my favorite songs ever. I love the whole album. I'm completely immersed in it. I can't wait for you to hear it."

Basically the new song is a shot back at Eminem, the lyrics say: “Why you so obsessed with me? Lying that you’re sexing me?” the Greenlawn native sings in the chorus, before delivering the kiss-off “You’re delusional. Boy, you’re losing your mind.”

The Apollo's 75th Anniversary - Prince, Mariah, and More

Prince made a surprise appearance at Monday’s 75th Anniversary of Harlem’s iconic Apollo Theater !

Prince and Mariah Carey were among the stars who helped the Apollo Theater celebrate its 75th anniversary Monday night with a fundraising concert and induction ceremony for Quincy Jones and Patti LaBelle, who became part of the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame.

Anita Baker and The O'Jays performed for the star-studded crowd, and Bill Cosby and wife Camille were presented with the Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis Arts & Humanitarian Award.

Mariah made sure to make the big announcement herself on Twitter, the name of her upcoming new album will be "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel".

Mariah is working with Timbaland on her new album, it is the first time that they will pair up together. "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" is reportedly due out this Fall. Already confirmed collaborations include The-Dream, Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, James "Big Jim" Wright, Tricky Stewart.

Mariah Carey - Special eBay Auction For Society of Singers

Mariah Carey is participating in an auction to benefit the Society of Singers, which benefits the health and welfare of professional singers worldwide with emergency financial assistance. They also raise money for Masters level students who are pursuing their education in the vocal arts at accredited universities and music schools across the US.

The auction closes on April 18th on the UniversalMusicStore.com. It includes a box of signed Mariah Carey Luscious Pink perfume, a signed Emancipation of Mimi CD, and a signed Adventures of Mimi DVD set.

Additional autographed Mariah Carey merchandise will be listed next week.
