Another Period Film for Rachel Hurd-Wood in Solomon Kane

We've come to associate actress Rachel Hurd-Wood with times past and fairy tale stories. She started as a child actress and she's appeared in a handful of movies like Peter Pan, Perfume, and Dorian Gray. Thus far, we've all come to expect that the next movie she'll be in will still have her wearing old-fashioned ruffled dresses with the accent to match.

Sure enough, in Solomon Kane, where she plays Meredith Crowthorn (left), we get to admire her again in those long trusses and conservative dresses - this time around, it's the top in-fashion from the 16th century. It's amazing how since Peter Pan she still looks like a little innocent girl in Solomon Kane. Notice how she looks more mature in Perfume than in Solomon Kane? That's the magic of movies.

Hurd-Wood's looks (top, left picture from the movie Perfume in 2006) are perfect for those films where the past is the present. Other actresses who are often cast in like roles are Cate Blanchett, Glenn Close, and maybe even Anne Hathaway. The way things re going for her, fans may get to see her in more period movies for many more years to come.
